Perimenopause and Menopause

Perimenopause and menopause can bring changes that catch you off guard: bladder leaking that wasn't there before, vaginal dryness, pain during sex, pelvic pressure, or a feeling that things just aren't working the way they used to. A lot of people are surprised by how many of these symptoms are connected to the pelvic floor.

As estrogen levels change, the tissues and muscles in and around the pelvis are affected. That can show up as leaking, urgency, constipation, pain with intercourse, or a sense of heaviness or pressure. These are real, physical changes, and pelvic floor physical therapy can make a meaningful difference.

You might also be noticing joint aches, sleep changes, or shifts in how your body responds to exercise. While we don't treat every symptom of menopause, we do look at how your whole body is functioning, including how you move, breathe, and manage load, and we build a plan that accounts for what your body is going through right now.

Perimenopause and menopause aren't problems to fix. They're a stage of life that your body can move through well with the right support and understanding. We'll help you understand what's happening, what you can do about it, and how to feel confident in your body as it changes.
